Homemade Marsala Chai

One of the best Masala Chai (literally "mixed-spice-tea") I have ever tasted was in Singapore years ago.  On my way to the Philippines for vacation my Mom and I had a stop-over in Singapore for few days. It We went to Little India for sightseeing and stopped by in a small coffee and tea shop for a chai in the afternoon. We ordered some Samosas for a snack and Marsala Chai instead of coffee. Besides the delicious Samosas, that chai we've got in that small shop was perfect. Strong, slightly sweetened and with the right blend of milk. Every time when I have that kind of Masala Chai, every sip brings me to that perfect afternoon with my Mom in Singapore's Little India.

It's been a decade since my last US visit. The last 10 years I have travelled Europe and Southeast Asia but now it's time to see my family and Los Angeles again.

Sorry my dears for my long absence. I'm so busy at work lately that I have trouble finding time to update my page. But I made it finally today. Our Lisbon vacation last Last June was incredible and restful. There's no other country in Europe that I'm so connected than to Portugal. I call Lisbon as my "soul city" now. Lisbon's nostalgic charm embraced me from the start. This was my second Portugal visit and I know I will go back next year again. More pictures coming soon. DIY: Customizable Necklace

Oh Darlings, isn't this customizable necklace adorable?!
Okay, I must admit that since I was a child, I was addicted to DIY things. Be it silk or oil painting, pastel drawing, pottery, sewing etc. My dad always encouraged me in all my creative works as a kid, teenager and adult. I always loved to accompany him when he went to the next hardware store. Hardware stores are my Disneyland!

Everyone is talking about Cambridge Satchels for a long time. I still haven't bought myself one because I was looking for an alternate satchel which is more minimalistic. When I got the latest edition of my favorite magazine "Monocle" I found in their special booklet "Creative Hong Kong" (in celebration of Hong Kong Design Year 2012) I fell in love with the bags from Seventy Eight Percent. Israel Shai Levy's brand creates canvas and leather travel bags that is unique, stylish and functional.

Don't you think that Seventy Eight Percent bags are stunner?! It's everything what I want: minimalistic and timeless.
